Key responsibilities

Produce reliable, AI-powered dashboards, scorecards, procurement packages, and contract controls that give executives the clarity and leverage to hold vendors accountable, control costs, and accelerate delivery across a $50M EdTech portfolio.

Description

You’ve built dashboards. Tracked milestones. Chased vendors. Flagged risks. But your reports hit a ceiling. You weren’t the one making the calls.

2 Hour Learning is building an AI-powered education model designed to help students achieve a full day of academic progress in just two hours. Making that model work at scale requires dozens of initiatives, technology partners, contracts, and investment decisions to move in sync. Your job is to make the execution layer trustworthy enough for executives to act on it.

You will own the operating outputs behind those decisions: portfolio dashboards that expose slippage before it becomes a surprise, vendor scorecards tied to real contractual commitments, competitive bid packages that make trade-offs clear, and contract controls that prevent unsupported spend. AI will be part of your daily workflow, helping you standardize updates, detect anomalies, compare bids, analyze vendor performance, and validate invoices.

This is not a PMO role built around meetings, process compliance, or polished status decks. It is for an operator who wants their work to have consequences. When a vendor underperforms, your evidence should make that obvious. When spend drifts from the contract, your controls should catch it. When executives need to make a $5M decision, your outputs should give them the confidence to make it fast. If that sounds like the level of ownership you have been looking for, apply.

Candidate requirements

 • Directly owned a portfolio of 10+ concurrent initiatives with at least $5M in budget responsibility, including authority over budget allocation, vendor selection, or initiative prioritization
 • Managed 5+ external technology vendors at the same time, such as SaaS providers, AI/ML platforms, marketing agencies, or engineering firms
 • Built and maintained portfolio-level dashboards covering metrics such as delivery health, budget burn versus forecast, milestone completion, and major risks or blockers
 • Can point to a case where C-suite leaders used your portfolio data to make a go/no-go decision on a vendor renewal, budget reallocation, or initiative deprioritization
 • Directly led competitive technology procurement, including structured bid evaluation, vendor scoring, negotiation, and selection
 • Authored or co-authored SOWs with measurable deliverables, milestone payments, SLAs, acceptance criteria, or other performance-based terms
 • Negotiated commercial terms such as pricing, penalties, fee caps, or exit clauses and enforced those terms through invoice validation or corrective action
 • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex financial and operational data into concise recommendations executives can act on
 • Able to analyze financial and vendor-performance data quickly enough to recommend optimization, reallocation, or vendor elimination
 • Able to work US business hours

Holly | LL Guide and Reading Specialist
United States

Holly spent years helping students build skills that don’t always show up on a report card - confidence, planning, independence, and the belief that they can do hard things. But in public school, that kind of whole-child support was limited by paperwork & systems built for scale. Then she found Alpha - a school where every child is known well enough to be personally supported. Now she’s campus LL Guide & Reading Specialist at Alpha Scottsdale, helping students grow as readers, thinkers, & confident little people.

A smarter way to master academics
MISSION

A smarter way to master academics

MacKenzie Price co-founded 2 Hour Learning to prove that stronger academic results don't require a longer school day. The company is the academic engine behind new schools like Alpha, GT School and Unbound Academy that uses AI and learning technology to make academics more personal, and effective - for everyone.

 • Work on the tech behind exciting new schools: Improve the academic model powering schools that are rethinking the (boring) traditional school day.
 • Use AI for real learning gains: Innovate with technology to make academic progress more personalized, increasingly measurable, and incredibly effective.
 • Help schools get better results with less strain: Support a model designed to strengthen learning without adding more hours for students or staff.

For people who want their work close to the future of education, 2 Hour Learning is the place where the model gets tested, improved, and scaled.

CULTURE

Work with people rethinking education from every angle

2 Hour Learning brings together talented educators, engineers, curriculum experts, operators, and AI specialists who all care about the same thing - making learning work better for students. The culture is collaborative, practical, and ambitious, with people from different disciplines solving difficult problems side by side.

 • Learn from different kinds of experts: Work with global colleagues who understand US schools, technology, learning science, and operations.
 • Bring strong ideas to the table: Join a team that values curiosity, clear thinking, and people who want to improve what already exists.
 • Stay close to real outcomes: The work is connected to students, schools, and the daily experience of learning, not abstract product theory.

This is a good fit for people who want smart colleagues, big, meaningful problems, and a team culture where education and technology push each other forward.

Where smart people unite around smarter learning.

IMPACT

Create technology that shapes the future of education

2 Hour Learning helps students master academics faster while changing the role of adults in the room. Instead of spending their best energy on grading, lesson planning, and one-size-fits-all instruction, teachers can focus on motivation, emotional support, life skills, and helping students become more independent learners.

 • Help students learn faster: Work on proven technology that supports 2x faster academic progress in focused learning blocks -and achieves top 1-2% test results nationally across all subjects.
 • Give teachers more meaningful work: Support a model that frees educators from repetitive academic delivery so they can coach, mentor, and motivate students.
 • Make school more useful for life: Help create more time for skills like independence, collaboration, communication, leadership and confidence.

For edtech applicants, this is the kind of progress you can see - students move faster, teachers do more human work, and the school day opens up for what students need next.

Shape new technology that gives learning its human edge.
